So I’ve just been out with the people I used to work with and have had a bit too much to drink. I’ve got to that stage where you get really down about things and basically I’ve just realised that I don’t have a single friend at my new place and I don’t think anyone there actually likes me. It’s a horrid thing to become aware of, but going out with my old work colleagues reminded me how close I was to them all and how great the difference is between the people I worked with and the people I now work with. Sure I had my bad days there but there was always someone I could talk to, in my new place I have no one.

I marathoned Good Luck!! and naturally adored it. Seriously why can't we make shows like this in the UK instead of depressing shit? Anyway I've spend most of the week with the ending theme, Ride on Time, in my head and have now been forced to download it and listen to it on repeat. Obviously the only bit I can sing along to are the "ride on time” and "oh oh oh" parts but that's not stopping me! It's only a matter of time before I start dancing to it too.
I think the writer's strike was the best thing ever for me because I discovered and completely fell in love with Japanese dramas. So far I've watched:
- Good Luck!!
- Lunch Queen
- My Boss, My Hero
- Hotaru no Hikari
- Galileo
- Yukan Club
- Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi
- Tatta Hitotsu no Koi
- Orange Days
I've really enjoyed all of them; although I wasn't as keen on Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, Lunch Queen and Yukan Club as I was of the others. I think one of the main things I like about Japanese dramas is that I'm a huge shipper, it doesn't matter what I watch I will find a couple to ship, and in Japanese dramas you normally get some sort of pay out shipping wise which is great.
I'm currently waiting for episode 11 of Dr Koto Shinryoujo to finish downloading and then I will have finished the first season of that. I've also seen up to episode 4 of Mop Girl but I can't find subs for the episodes after that which is a shame because it's a really cute show.
I'm now going force my friends to watch a few of the shows so I can share the squeeing. Also I need someone to talk to about episode 10 of My Boss, My Hero because the shirt ripping was one of the greatest moments in television history! I saw the tattoos peaking out and started chanting, "Rip the shirt! Rip the shirt!" and he did!

Last night I was woken up at 2am by a fox calling in my garden. If you've never heard a fox calling before consider yourself very lucky because it's horrific. If you go here and listen to FOX-AT-NIGHT.WAV you get some idea of what it sounds like i.e a woman being killed by a psycho axe murderer. I knew it was a fox but part of me still thought there was someone being murdered in my back garden and that I better not turn on the light in case that alerted them and they came for me too. The thing that scares me the most though is that say I was being murdered in my garden and screaming my head off people would probably just think I was a fox and ignore me.

I have three things to report:
1. I am completely in love with Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi aka The Fantastic Deer-Man. It’s fantastically whimsical and Ogawa and Fujiwara are adorable; if they don’t end up together it will be a travesty! I can’t wait for the subs for episode 7 & 8, I tried watching clips from both episodes but as I don’t understand a single word of Japanese I have no idea what’s going on.
2. I watched Tekkonkinkreet yesterday and was left completely stunned by it. Amazon recommended it to me because I own most of the Studio Ghibli films and I normally tend to ignore Amazon recommendations, it thinks I should buy Bring It On 2, but I read the reviews which where all really positive and decided to get it, despite having no idea what it was about. I’m so glad I did because it’s an amazingly beautiful film which has more heart and depth to it than most films I’ve seen recently. I thought the animation was gorgeous and the detail exquisite, although I can see why it might not be to everyone's taste. As soon as I get a blu-ray player I’m getting the film again on blu-ray because it will look stunning. You can see a clip of it here.
3. I am soooooooo bored of this layout.

I’ve somehow become really, really excited/obsessed about Step Up 2. I saw Step Up at the cinema and thought it was pretty bad, however as soon I found out that Step Up 2 would be coming out the week of my birthday all that went out the window and I decided Step Up 2 would be nothing like its predecessor and would be fucking amazing. My birthday is next Sunday so we’ll be going out Saturday evening and I’m planning on going to see this first and then going to some bars to try and recreate the dance moves. It’s going to be great! I’m also probably going to be tipsy before I get to the cinema so I will be doing chair dancing and singing along to the soundtrack. Speaking of the soundtrack, there are 7 songs on it that I’ve had on repeat for the last week; I now know all the words to a Cassie song :/. I pity the poor people who are in the same screen as us.
I’m getting my hair dyed and cut on Saturday and deep down I’m slightly nervous but I’ve become so hyped up and positive about my birthday that I’m not going to let anything get to me. Ideally I would like Tami Taylor’s hair, but the again who wouldn’t? My hair is crap though so even if it only looks a little bit more “alive” I’ll chalk it up as a serious achievement and be happy.
My new job is pretty good; I can’t believe I’ve been there over a month already! My job involves updating the website and spending a lot of time messing about on Photoshop – what’s not to like? I work with a guy who knows everything which is just fantastic because I hate not knowing how to do things and he seems to be willing to teach me. I’m only on a 6-month contract but I think I’d like to stay there if the opportunity arose.
I hate how I have ideas, which in my opinion are amazing, for wallpapers but when it comes to creating them I just fail completely! I have this idea for a fabulous Gossip Girl wallpaper but I can’t find the right background for it or a picture of Nate that fits in with the idea.

My last post of 2007; I can’t believe it’s gone by so quickly.
I totally forgot to write about the office Christmas party I helped organise and my last day at work in yesterday’s post so I’ll do it now.
I took the organising of the office party to heart and ended up being really stressed by it. There were set backs, people being miserable sods and not wanting to go and realising the day before that we couldn’t get the right balloons were just a couple of them, however on the day it went pretty well. We did discover in the morning that Kay, who I was organising the party with, had forgotten the key to her drawer that contained the money for the DJ, £120, we managed to get around it though. We went to the room we’d booked at lunchtime to put up the decorations and move the furniture but it was f-ing freezing in the room! We’d booked a room at the pub just up the road, it’s a converted stable in their courtyard, and although it didn’t have central heating it did have heaters, however they hadn’t turned then on. I kept dropping things because I couldn’t feel my fingers meaning I had to spend ever longer in the cold. I only went back to work for a few hours before nipping off to the hairdressers for a blow dry. My new hairdresser is fantastic, she understands how crap my hair is, which is brilliant because normally hairdressers do what they want regardless and it looks awful. Anyway back on topic. I then met up with my office peeps and had a great meal in The Orange Tree before popping back to work to get the raffle prizes. When we got the room at 7 it was still freezing despite the fact the heaters were on. It turned out that the fuse had gone in one of the extension cables so two of the main heaters weren’t working, we got it fixed but it was still pretty cold and some people moaned but I just told them that instead of standing in the cold moaning they could go wait in the pub until it got warmer. We’d been budgeting things but because we’d had a few people drop out at the last minute on the night we were £20 down, luckily though 6 extra people turned up so we ended up with extra money which we swapped with someone for gift vouchers for the raffle and then popped across the road to get some chips from the fish and chip shop to add the buffet as there wasn’t any hot food included in it. The chips went down really well thank god and I had people coming up to me saying they were a great idea. There was one last incident that was potentially disastrous; we accidentally threw out the £50 cash first prize. We managed to retrieve it from the dumpster and no one was any the wiser but I was having vision of having to stump up the £50 myself. I finally got a chance to relax and had a great time dancing about like a crazy person but I’m never doing it again!
As for my last day, I cried! I was doing really well and despite the fact Sue kept trying to me to cry I was acting like the happiest person ever. I’d been asked if I wanted a presentation and naturally I said no because I knew I’d cry and it wouldn’t be pretty and I didn’t want to be remembered as the girl who’d had a complete breakdown on her last day. I had one hour to go though when they told me to go down the other end of the room because my old team wanted to see me, everyone else followed me though and I took one look at the huge bouquet and saw my old line manager getting ready to say something and I just fell apart and ran to the toilets lol. Margaret came to get me and people sometimes thinks she’s rude and brusque but she’s lovely and I’m glad I moved onto that team so I got a chance to know those guys better. Everyone was so nice and I got some fantastic presents including £60 from the whole office and a calendar from Sue, which she’s made using photos of various people from my old team, which is just the best present ever. I’m really, really going to miss them all because they’re such a laugh and so kind. To be honest it still doesn’t feel like I’ve left because I always have 2 weeks off at Christmas but I start my new job on the 7th and I’ve got to get myself in the right mind state for that.
I really wanted to get a list up of some of my favourite things of 2007 but I didn’t get round to thinking of things so that’s gone out of the window! One thing I did have was that my 3 favourite new shows of 2007 all feature a character called Chuck. I don’t know if that’s a reliable method for telling if a show is good or not, but at the moment, in my eyes at least, Chuck = quality programming. Also Blair Waldorf>everyone, but everybody knows that. Has anyone else had a chance to think of his or her favourites things of 07?
This is seriously long post for me, but in closing I hope you’ve all had a stupendous 2007 and that 2008 is even better!

Hope everyone had a splendid Christmas. Mine was pretty good and I got great presents including this from my parents. I love them!
Hopefully I'll post tomorrow, but this is me we're talking about, so I'll just wish everyone a Happy New Year now.

I have a really embarrassing confession to make; I thought narwhals were mythical creatures like unicorns. To be fair the first time I heard about them was in Elf and if I’d believed everything in that film I’d currently be mounting an expedition to find the seven layers of the candy cane forest. I feel really, really stupid.

I’ve been offered a job! I’ll hopefully be starting at the beginning of January.
Now I have to write my letter of resignation, I had no idea writing a letter of resignation was so hard! I’m hoping I don’t cry when I hand it in. Looking at my track record though I don’t think that’s going to happen, I cried when I left my previous job and I only liked one person there and I very nearly cried when I left my old team to go to my current team - which is only 15m away. No mascara for me tomorrow!

I have a shiny new phone! It's an LG Viewty and it's purty. One teenie weenie problem though - the guy at the store forgot to give me the sim card. I really can’t be arsed to go back into town and deal with all the shoppers again but I want my phone to work.
